Show your creativity and fashion sense at a Recycled Fashion Show

The US Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is organizing a Recycled Fashion Show on Saturday, April 21 to honor Earth Day.  The goal of the event is to raise public awareness of environmental protection and to promote recycling. 

The public is invited to design any piece of clothing (including hats, bags, etc.), but the item must be made with a recyclable material such as glass, paper, metal, plastic, textiles (including old or repurposed clothes),electronics, etc.  Designers must register by sending an email to pao@usembassy.mn.  Please include full name and age.  The deadline to register is Thursday, April 17.  When registering, please keep in mind that two people must register; one to announce the outfit and another to model it (designers must be prepared to list recyclable materials used).  The designers can model their creations themselves or have a model to showcase their work.  

Criteria for judging:

  • Creativity
  • Aesthetics
  • Amount of recycled material used      

Prizes will be given.

  • The USAID Mongolia’s Biodiversity Report-508 entitled MONGOLIA BIODIVERSITY: Status, Threats, and Recommendations for Conservation is now ready. This report fulfills the Biodiversity Assessment (FAA Section 119) required to inform USAID/Mongolia’s FY2011-FY2016 Country Development Cooperation Strategy and was prepared by Anila Jacob and Andrew Tobiason, USAID/EGAT/Biodiversity Team in March 2011.
  • The Democracy and Governance (DG) Assessment of Mongolia was undertaken in August and September 2010 by ARD, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, under the auspices of the USAID Office of Democracy and Governance (DCHA/DG) and USAID/Mongolia.
  • We are pleased to share the Mongolia Economic Growth Assessment report. This publication was prepared by Weidemann Associates, Inc. for USAID/Mongolia’s new strategy paper and financed by the Office of Economic Growth of EGAT/USAID.
